Grand Canyon Suite – Boston Pops (cond. Arthur Fiedler)

When you think ‘classical’ or ‘orchestral music,’ most associate it with European concert halls, wigs and gaudy horse-drawn carriages…but why not include American scenic vistas, cowboy hats and chuck wagons? Surely some of the most beautiful large-scale orchestral music has been written by Americans such as Aaron Copeland and Ferde Grofe, who composed the masterfully expansive Grand Canyon Suite in 1931. We have that piece of music in high-quality audiophile vinyl, recorded by the Boston Pops and conducted by Arthur Fiedler.  This recording presents the Grand Canyon Suite in crystalline beauty.  Listen to one of the movements below, and check out our vinyl copy here.
