Parking Lot survey & Information
On March 1, the City of Santa Cruz implemented fees for the parking lot located behind Logos.
We want to hear your opinions, suggestions and concerns about this new plan. We would like to collect this information to turn over to the city, in order to improve the situation, so please respond in kind; in other words, constructive criticism, praise or suggestions only please!
We did not ask for this and we are trying to do what we can to make it reasonably better. The city reports that the cost of parking maintenance has increased greatly, and this is how they are trying to address their budget problems.
Update: Thank you! We are getting lots of survey responses and look forward to more. There are a couple of issues that have come up, so we thought we would mention them here…
1. A couple of people have indicated they are confused by the instructions; should they carry the ticket with them or leave it on their dashboard? The answer is: carry it with you. The city has a system for reading the ‘machine’ which tells them which spaces should have cars and which should not. If you carry your ticket with you, then you can update your parking at any paystation downtown (using your space number).
2. Handicapped Parking: We agree with every person who has written to us about the ridiculous placement of Handicapped Spaces with respect to the Pay Stations. It seems to contradict one of the most important aspects of those spaces, that is, to place them close to business entrances to reduce the distance. We have let the City know of your overwhelming responses on this issue, and have been assured that they are working on a better plan. Just want you to know…some of the survey replies seem to point the finger at us! We had ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with this (nor any other part of this program).
3. We do not see your email address in the survey (it is completely anonymous) so if you want to ask a question, please email us directly: logos@logosbooksrecords.com.
